Sorry Savannah, You Got Out Coffee'd

Have you ever woken up and knew you needed to go on an adventure to find a new coffee spot?

It was a Thursday morning and I just knew there was a cool coffee shop to be discovered. I was about 50 minutes outside of Savannah so I knew it was going to be an adventure, but hey, Savannah should have a great coffee scene right?

When I got downtown, off a very busy Broughton Street, I realized I made a serious mistake. Even on a Thursday morning, it was loud, smoggy, and full of chattering people. This was not the vibe I thought I was going to find in a city full of southern charm. It was commercialized in a way I didn't realize and didn't care for. Don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful city with amazing food and culture, but I wanted a place that made you feel like a local the second you walk through the door. I left the smog and loud chatter turned off my GPS and drove until I felt free from the noise.

I ended up in Pooler, GA at Three Tree Coffee Roasters. A quaint town where everyone I walked by smiled at me. I felt welcome, immediately, even though this city didn’t exist to me before getting off a random exit and looking for signs of coffee.

Three Tree Coffee Roasters was founded and owned by Mrs. Kaye. She bought the home because it was the oldest home in Pooler. She thought it should be shared with locals and travelers. The staff was so friendly. One even said he liked my name and rarely ever hears it. Since the sweetest sound a person can hear is their name, his compliment was well received. I got a cappuccino and blueberry lemon muffin. The espresso beans were roasted perfectly and tasted amazing. The blueberry lemon muffin was warm and incredible. That’s saying a lot because my wife's Nana is the best baker I have ever met. She makes muffins and these were worthy of her accolades.

If I’m ever back in Pooler, Georgia I will definitely stop by the welcoming and warm coffee shop and cafe. I highly recommend you stop if you are ever north or southbound on I95 near Savannah, Georgia. Thanks for the experience Three Tree Coffee Roasters.
